It’s TACO TUESDAY! Save the date on Tuesday, November 14. Grab some family and friends and head on over to Taco Bamba in Herndon (2415 Centreville Rd) to get your taco fix! Need breakfast on the go? Grab a delicious breakfast taco or empanda! Run out of time to pack lunch? Grab a bowl or some tacos for lunch instead! Tired from a long day at school or work? Grab your family and some friends and enjoy some (more) tacos or tortas for dinner!! Stop in anytime or as many times as you’d like between 9 AM and 9 PM and be sure to mention the Fox Mill ES fundraiser to the cashier. Ordering online? Enter the code FMES in the coupon code box. 20% of all sales will be donated back to the FMES PTA. Gift cards also count towards sales. The federal presence in our area and the significant tax exemptions available to federally connected personnel, businesses, and agencies has qualified Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to be eligible for federal Impact Aid grants. The Federal Impact Aid survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S Department of Education.  These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. The more federally-connected students a school has, the more that school earns in grant dollars. Please read on for more information.

Join the "Do It Your Way 0.5K" to raise money for the SLHS PTSA Pantry @ Lake Anne in Reston on Oct 15th!

Would you and your family like to make a difference in the community? The PTSA at South Lakes High School has been addressing food insecurity in our community since 2017 through the PTSA Pantry. It not only supports South Lakes students and families but more than 120 students and 170 families from all over our pyramid come to the Pantry every Thursday to receive food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Please read on for more information to find out how you can make a difference!

We invite and welcome all parents to our Japanese Cultural Committee (JCC) meetings, generally held the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:00 am - 10:30 am in our school cafeteria.  We are excited to continue the planning process for some of our favorite Japanese cultural events like Japanese Art Week and the Matsuri festival for our students and their families.  We have a variety of ways you can volunteer to help plan and facilitate these special events.  If you're not able to attend the JCC meeting in person, consider our optional online meeting in October and please be on the lookout for future emails with updates and volunteer opportunities.
