On March 3, Kids Give Back will host a children’s volunteer day at Oakton United Methodist when FCPS schools are not in session. While the exact projects are still being determined, common activities include preparing art kits for disabled adults or making snack packs for toddlers in need, and the like.  Please read on for more information.

Great Falls Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a group of community members serving the Reston/Herndon/Great Falls/Vienna area. Just a reminder that our after school activities start tomorrow, the 13th, with basketball in the gym and cheer in the cafeteria. Thursday, the 15th, will be sprint/agility in the gym and hip hop in the cafeteria. Pick up for these activities will be at the kiss ‘n ride doors. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remind your children that they are signed up for these activities and please email their teachers and let them know as well so they can dismiss them to the proper place on the appropriate day. Thank you!

Please join Pack 159 for a kickoff event at Dogwood Elementary School on Thursday, September 8th, at 6:00 pm. Cub Scouts includes boys and girls from Kindergarten to 5th grade. The Fox Mill-based Pack meets at nearby schools during Fox Mill's renovation. Our kickoff will have fun activities for kids and information about our 2022-23 program for parents. Current South Lakes high school student, Evan Meade, is offering rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students an awesome summer opportunity to learn fundamentals about speech and debate. This camp is a great opportunity for students looking to try out for the RCMS debate team. As a former debater himself, Evan understands the importance of practice. Even if students aren't looking to try out for the team, public speaking is always a good skill to have and this camp is a great way to gain both skill and confidence.
