The PTSA at South Lakes High School has been addressing food insecurity in our community since 2017 through the PTSA Pantry. It not only supports South Lakes students and families but more than 120 students and 170 families from all over our pyramid come to the Pantry every Thursday to receive food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. We are excited to continue the planning process for some of our favorite Japanese cultural events like Japanese Art Week and the Matsuri festival for our students and their families. We have a variety of ways you can volunteer to help plan and facilitate these special events. Our vendor was in a car accident two hours before showtime, and we had to sub in some of our families' home AV equipment to make the movie happen; we are so thankful that spirits remained high and grownups remained patient! Thanks to everyone who came, helped out, enjoyed themselves, and made our FMES community such a special place to be.
