About Us

The Fox Mill PTA is an active, vital part of Fox Mill Elementary School. The Fox Mill PTA provides many enriching programs and activities for Fox Mill students and supports the teachers and the staff at the school through funding special purchases and educational opportunities.

The PTA Board consists of five officers, our school principals, teacher representatives, and over 50 committee chairs and program coordinators. Participating in the PTA is the best way for parents to become truly involved in their children’s education.

The PTA meetings are usually held the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the school library. Check the calendar for the exact dates and times. PTA meetings are open to all.

Membership

The Fox Mill PTA is a volunteer-run, membership-based organization. The dues that parents pay each year help contribute to the many programs and events that the PTA sponsors.

Membership is $10 per person. Each paid member receives a directory. Additional directories can be purchased for $5 each.

Directory

Each year the PTA produces a directory containing contact information for Fox Mill families who opt to be included. One directory is provided as a benefit of PTA membership and additional directories can be purchased.

Fox Mill School Building Use

Space is available at Fox Mill Elementary School to hold meetings. All requests to use space must be submitted electronically. To submit an electronic request:

  1. Call or e-mail Sandy Vigen at the Fox Mill Elementary School office (703 262 2700 or msvigen@fcps.edu) so she can advise you on availability.
  2. Go to FCPS home page (http://www.fcps.edu/index.shtml).
  3. Click Community in the title bar.
  4. Scroll to bottom of page and click How to use school buildings and grounds.
  5. Under the first heading, third bullet, second part of the line item, click Request Space within FCPS.
  6.  At the very top right hand side click Log in to Request Facility Use.
  7. You will need to create your account the first time you request space.
  8. Fill out your information and wait for an e-mail authorizing you to use the Building Use Request Wizard.
  9. Click on the link in your e-mail and fill out the electronic request form. Mrs. Vigen will receive your request and approve it by e-mail.
